Walking, hiking and biking holidays

During your stay in our apartments and bed and breakfast near Bozen you should not miss a pleasant walk to Vilpian’s waterfall. For longer hikes the high plateau Tschögglberg with its wonderful scenery is within easy reach whilst on the plateau “Ritten” you will find the famous Earth Pyramids. On request we organize guided hikes in the surroundings from April to October.

Thanks to the excellent cycle paths you can explore our region in a relaxed and environmental-friendly way. The combination of train and bike is highly recommended: the train takes you to Malles from where you return by bicycle on the Via Claudia Augusta. The mountains and woods around Vilpian are a true paradise for mountain bikers. Just take the cable car from Vilpian (you can take your bicycle) and enjoy a delightful tour on the roads and forestry tracks of the high plateau.

Culture and families

Our holiday apartments in Vilpian are the perfect starting point for many trips in the neighbourhood. Here some examples:

• The SPA town of Meran with the Merano Thermal Baths and Castle Trauttmansdorff Botanic Garden
• The Ötzi Museum in Bozen and the ruins of Castle Neuhaus and Greifenstein
• St. Antonius Chapel in Siebeneich and the parish church in Terlan with frescos of the 14th century

Guided tours along the Terlan wine path with final wine tasting are a highlight for all guests and are included in the WinePass. Other attractions for children and adults: high rope trail in Terlan and and Vilpian’s labyrinth.

Golf and tennis

Eager for further sport activities during your holidays in South Tyrol? No problem! In the surroundings you find different golf courses:

• Golfclub Lana: 9 holes, ~8 km
• Golfclub Passeier-Meran: 18 holes, ~40 km
• Dolomiti Golfclub Sarnonico: 18 holes, ~40 km

In Terlan you find 4 well-maintained tennis courts. If you would like to practice your “victory swing” with expert assistance, you are in the best hands.

Winter in Meran 2000 and South Tyrol

During the winter season you will be delighted by the wonderful skiing resort of Merano 2000 with over 40 km skiing slopes and variegated offers for cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking, ski tours and winter walks.

This family-friendly skiing resort is much appreciated by families thanks to its equipment and services for the little ones: the exclusive Outdoor Kids Camp, the Skikindergarten and the ski school grant fun and amusement to everyone. Do not miss a ride on the alpin bob or a ride on the 3 km long toboggan run! Enjoy the sun and let yourself be delighted by some appetizing typical dishes at the many mountain huts along the slopes.
